The International Oncolytic Virus Conference is a dynamic community of leading scientists formed to disseminate the latest developments in the oncolytic virus space.
The community had ambitious plans for growth, and wanted a brand identity to reflect their international standing and future goals.
Brand keywords that stood out in the Discovery Session were: ‘Progressive’, ‘academic’ and ‘cutting edge’.
The First Creative contained three visual options.
The board chose the logo design that contained the iconic hexagonal cell outline. This hollow shape gave me room to create a ‘disruptive’ inside space, with the acronym name in a chaotic overlap of geometric shapes. I wanted to create a brand design that ‘pushed the boundaries’ and was non-conformist, both attributes the IOVC value with pride.
I used the colour palette to add the ‘corporate’ side to the identity. The predominant brand colour, a dark warm blue, is often associated with innovation and dependability.
